Test of Emergency Alert System on Monday, September 25th
Dear Parents and Community Members,

The schools of Chittenden East will test their emergency notification system on Monday, September 25th at 6:00PM.

You will likely receive a phone message, possibly a text message, as well as an email.

The system is to let you know of urgent information such as school closures, delays or emergencies.

"A" DAY

GENERAL

  • Students interested in auditioning for New England Music Festival please fill out your audition sign-up form and hand it into the envelope on the chorus bulletin board in the music hallway. The forms are due today at 3:15pm. Questions, see Mr. Pillsbury.
  • All band students need to bring instruments, drums and flags home today for the Harvest market parade tomorrow. Please meet at BRMS no later than 8:30 am in full uniform.
  • The library will be closed seventh period and after school today.
  • REPEAT ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • Any freshman who would like to run for student council this year can pick up an application form in the main office. Forms should be filled out and returned to Mr. Angwin in room 416 by Wednesday, September 27th.
  • Please help the victims of the recent hurricanes by donating money to the relief efforts. All money will be donated to a local charity in Florida. The advisory that donates the most money will win a dessert party. Any questions, please see Jane Maheux or Fran Donato.

    Tentative Agreement Reached

    The School Board Directors of the Mount Mansfield Modified Union School District and the Huntington School District are pleased to announce that a tentative agreement has been reached for a two year contract with the Green Mountain-NEA. Terms of the 2017-2019 contract include changes to the teacher evaluation process, 3% total new dollars in salary and an average increase of $1,200 for teachers who are at the top step in the salary schedule. In addition, teachers will increase their contributions to healthcare premiums to 19% in 2017-2018 and 20% in 2018-2019 and pay first dollar medical expenses of $400 for a single plan and $800 for two person and family plan.


    Member school districts and the Green Mountain-NEA are in the process of ratifying the new two year contract.


    This tentative agreement represents a year of collegial, respectful and productive negotiations with the Green Mountain-NEA. The Boards want to thank all of the individuals who participated in these negotiations for their hard work, professionalism and commitment.
